Nearly 300 Minnesotans came to the Capitol on Monday, January 5th to show their support for the Minnesota Health Plan.  Throughout rotunda echoed strains of "Single-Payer!  Yes we can!" and speakers delivered the message that NOW is the time to enact real health care reform.  The dismal economic health of our state, and the declining health of its residents, deserve no less.

Numerous individuals spoke at the rally, including the 2009 Minnesota Health Plan authors, Senator John Marty and Representative David Bly, and eight members of the Minnesota Universal Health Care Coalition, representing our Board and endorsing or member organizations: Lisa Nilles, MD (MUHCC Board), Nancy Breymeier (MIBA), Dan McGrath (TakeAction), Doug Peterson (MN Farmer's Union), Ann Settgast, MD (Physicians for a National Health Program-MN), Glenda Larson (League of Women Voters), Diane Peterson (Green Party), and Craig Brooks (Great Northern States Health Care Initiative).

Following the rally, many attendees visited their legislators to convey that the Minnesota Health Plan is the solution to our health care crisis.
